How to Improve Badminton Powerful Smash

                          


Many of Badminton player's problems to hit the powerful Badminton smash on your opponent, but they mistakes some techniques to hit power smash. Like most badminton shots, a smash can be done with both forehand and backhand. That's why it is very important to master both grip.


There are 4 easy step to improve you smash power:



Step 1: How to hit forehand smash clear.

  • Stand the edge with your non-racquet side in front of the net.
  • Get in position and adopt forehand hold. If you intend to break, then you should move towards the early shuttle. 
  • Shift your weight to the back foot, bend your elbow, lock your wrist and prepare to swing forward.
  • Ensure that you stretch your racket arm as far as possible. This will help you to ensure that you swing a full hand.
  • Hit the shuttle as soon as possible on higher point... 
  • Bend your leg and jump to highest point of shuttle come down, generate full power of forehand and hit clear.



Step 2: How to hit Backhand clear smash. 

  • Backhand smash isn't easy to hit like forehand smash it's going to fast on court backside.
  • Hold your racket with right grip Keep the racket arm close to your body and hold the racket pointing down
  • Maximum Wrist Action: Wrist action in badminton creates a lot of power. Perform a quick “snapping” motion by flicking your wrist.
  • Grip: DO NOT Grip too tightly on your racket. 
  • If you are holding tightly, you are tilting your muscles. When your arm muscles are very troubled, then the movement of your wrist will be limited and you will find it difficult to shock your wrist.
  • Hit shuttle like, as With forehand smash, hit the shuttle at the highest point of contact and flick down your wrist to generate more power.


Step 3: How to hit Chinese jump smash

  • Get into position and adopt the Forehand Grip 
  • Use your Racket Foot to push your body up into the air
  • Highest point of shuttle do jump and practice to hit the shuttle center on court
  • Explosively contract your Abs as hard as you can. If you have strong abs, your smash will be hard
  • Do jump exercise quickly and fast 
  • When jump to hit the shuttle make your leg angle 90° degree

Step 4: Training for powerful smash. 

  • To break a powerful way, you have to get your body as high as possible. This is because your body weight will be on the shuttlecock at your peak of height and your body is going down with the potential energy of the body.
  • Go to court and hit the shuttle with a very comfortable grip. Hold the racket firm enough that it will not come out of your hands - you do not want to see the whites of your nose or you are getting very tight!
  • If you can jump higher and to the front than you can have your body momentum against the shuttle momentum.
  • The jumping is not 90 degrees but 80 degrees to the front. But this impossible to do because you have to have your body almost behind the outside line.
